Leeds United are currently in fourth place in the Championship table.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 5th December, that he is delighted to see Leeds United performing so well.

Leeds have raced up the Championship table, and they now sit in fourth place, after a strong run of form.

The Whites won 2-0 against Aston Villa in their latest outing, and Hasselbaink has praised Massimo Cellino for giving Monk time to implement his methods.

“Monk has been doing magnificently,” he said. “He is letting them play really positively with a young team. He is getting them going.

“It’s one of those things that at the beginning of the season, he wasn’t doing well, but they stuck by him and he’s got them going. I’m very happy for them. They deserve to be in the Premier League.”

Leeds did indeed make a rather slow start to the campaign, but after a few early jitters, they have gone from strength to strength.

Leeds are now one of the most in-form teams in the Championship, and they have been highly impressive in recent weeks.

The Yorkshire side have forced themselves into the thick of the race for promotion, and they will move to within four points of the top two if they are able to beat Brighton & Hove Albion in their next outing.

Leeds are currently occupying their highest place in the league table since 2011, and there are now genuine hopes that they could make a return to the Premier League for the first time in over 12 years.
