Queens Park Rangers sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the start of November.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 5th December, that he would have liked more time at Queens Park Rangers.
QPR sacked Hasselbaink at the start of November, following a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
At the time Rangers were in 17th place in the Championship table, but they were only six points back from the play offs.
And Hasselbaink felt that he could have got QPR into the promotion mix, if he was given more time at Loftus Road.
“It was a big job. We had to get a lot of players out,” he admitted. “The budget was smashed down. We needed to bring in nine players, and four of them were foreign players. We all know, some you need to give time and it will take longer than six months.

“It was disappointing. I must say, certain matches we didn’t do well. But other matches we did do really well.
“In my last game against Nottingham Forest we played with 10 men and looked the better side. To be told it’s over after that match, it hurts. Especially when you’re only six points adrift of the top six and you feel that you can improve.”
Hasselbaink is still searching for a new job since leaving QPR, and he admitted that he is keen to get back into management quickly.

Rangers have since appointed Ian Holloway to take them forward, and the veteran coach has experienced a mixed start.
Holloway guided QPR to victory over Norwich City in his first match in charge, but they have been beaten by Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers more recently.
Rangers are now in 15th place in the Championship standings, and they remain six points away from the play off places.
