Eddie Nketiah and Patrick Bamford are the two main strikers for Leeds United.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink suggested on Sky Sports Main Event (12:16pm, September 21, 2019) that Eddie Nketiah will be disappointed at not being in the Leeds United starting lineup against Derby County at the weekend.

Nketiah, signed on loan from Premier League club Arsenal in the summer transfer window, started the Championship game against Derby at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon as a substitute.

Patrick Bamford was in the starting lineup instead, and the former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker failed to score, as the match finished in a 1-1 draw.

Former Leeds striker Hasselbaink said that if he were Nketiah, then he would be disappointed, and he also predicted the 20-year-old to score more goals than Bamford.

Hasselbaink said on Sky Sports Main Event (12:16pm, September 21, 2019): “If I was him, I’d be very disappointed not to start because what can you do more? He comes in and makes the difference.

“If you look at him, he’s always in the middle of the box, he always stays within the width of the box. He finds space and he’s got this nature of scoring goals. He is a proper goalscorer.”

Hasselbaink added: “For me, Eddie doesn’t need two or three chances, he’s a goalscorer, he wants to score goals.

“Bamford wants to score goals as well but I’ve got the feeling Bamford wants to score beautiful goals.”

Have a little patience

Nketiah has been playing well for Leeds so far this season, and has been making good impact as a substitute.

True, the 20-year-old has scored two goals in 89 minutes of Championship football and two goals in two EFL Cup ties for Leeds so far this season, according to WhoScored, but he is still very young, and it would be asking too much of him to lead the line for Marcelo Bielsa’s side at this stage of the season.
