Liverpool star man Philippe Coutinho is known to be of interest to Barcelona.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink appears to have taken a swipe at Liverpool on Twitter, after suggesting that they aren’t a ‘big club’.

Liverpool are looking to keep Philippe Coutinho away from the clutches of Barcelona, but the Brazilian is understood to want a move to Spain by the Daily Express.

And Hasselbaink claims that he sympathises with Coutinho, for wanting to join a big club.

Liverpool fans have expressed their displeasure with the tweet on social media, with Hasselbaink met with a barrage of criticism.

Coutinho’s situation is yet to be solved at Anfield, but it is looking increasing likely that the play maker will depart.

Liverpool were initially defiant and determined to keep hold of Coutinho, when Barcelona lodged their interest.

However, the noises coming out of the Merseyside club more recently appear to suggest that Coutinho’s departure is a possibility.

If Coutinho was to leave Liverpool it would be a major blow for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who began their campaign with a 3-3 draw against Watford.
