The 25-year-old is one of eight new signings by Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers so far this summer.

Speaking to SportTimes, Former Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood believes that the “hard as nails” Ryan Jack will prove himself a fine signing at Rangers.

The Scottish midfielder was the second man through the door at Rangers this summer after manager Pedro Caixinha brought him from Pittodrie.

Calderwood knows a thing or two about the 25-year-old after working with him during his teenage years, and the 62-year-old says that the Ibrox faithful have plenty to look forward to with regards to the Scot.

“I think he will love it and I’m sure he can’t wait to get out there on Thursday night,” Calderwood told SportTimes.

“He is a winner and he will relish it. He is a leader, a really good lad and good fun as well so he will be good in the dressing room.

“I am sure he will love it. No disrespect to Aberdeen, but nights like that is probably one of the reasons why he went down the road.

“He is a very good player, hard as nails, a good passer of the ball and he loves playing football. I think he will do really well for Rangers.”

It has been a very busy summer at Rangers, with six more players – Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio, Daniel Canedias, Alfredo Morelos, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera – following Jack and Bruno Alves to Glasgow.

The ex-Aberdeen star is the only Scot to have signed on at Ibrox so far but there are potential moves for Graham Dorrans and Jamie Walker in the pipeline.

Jack will hope to make his competitive debut for the Gers on Thursday when Caixinha’s side host Progres Niederkorn in the first leg of a first-round Europa League qualifier.
