Jimmy Bullard pulled no punches in his assessment of the Liverpool striker’s performance.

Belgium slumped to a demoralising 2-0 defeat to Italy in their Euro 2016 opener in Lyon last night.
Goals from Emanuele Giaccherini and Graziano Pelle in either half did the damage to a Belgium side who quite simply boast quality everywhere on the pitch.

One of those Belgian stars could, and perhaps should, have salvaged at least a point for his country at 1-0 down, but Liverpool hitman Divock Origi, who replaced Romelu Lukaku, spurned a couple of glorious opportunities on the big stage.
Origi enjoyed an excellent final few months of the 2015-16 campaign with Liverpool, establishing himself as the Reds’ number one striker more or less following some goal-laden form.
But he was poor at the Stade des Lumieres last night, and former Premier League midfielder Jimmy Bullard had no qualms over calling a spade a spade.

The 37-year-old took to Twitter to share his opinion of the 21-year-old’s second-half performance, in which he had 17 minutes to make an impact.
In his defence, Origi did miss a few weeks toward the end of the season after picking up an injury in a Merseyside derby win over Everton, though his gaffes for Belgium did seem like just misses to be honest.
