Fotospor have reported that Besiktas are aiming to sign Wolves striker, Raul Jimenez in January as a potential replacement for Manchester United-bound Wout Weghorst.
With Fabrizio Romano claiming that a full verbal agreement has been reached between Man United and Besiktas, a deal involving Weghorst seems to be done for all practical purposes.
With the Dutch international registering 10 league goals and 4 assists in 16 games for the Turkish giants, it seems as if after the success of Roman Saiss from Wolves, Jimenez is the club’s next target.
At one point, the £100,000-a-week marksman was hailed as one of the best strikers in the entirety of the Premier League.
However, it seems as if the aftermath of a horrific skull injury suffered by Raul Jimenez in 2021 has taken a toll on his form for a significant period of time.
To make matters worse, Jimenez has missed 8 league games due to a hip injury and 1 due to a knee problem, as per Transfermarkt, which does not help the struggling striker.
However, it seems Besiktas have earmarked the 31-year-old as the ideal January signing.
Besiktas earmark Wolves ace Raul Jimenez as the successor to Manchester United-bound Wout Weghorst

As per a new report by Fotospor, Besiktas eye Wolves goalscorer Raul Jimenez as the replacement for Manchester United-bound Wout Weghorst in January.
It has been claimed that while the Turkish side have looked at a number of potential No.9’s, Jimenez is the player they last ‘examined’ as their Weghorst successor.
Much like the former VFL Wolfsburg striker, Jimenez too is somewhat of a target man, which would perhaps make him tailor-made for Senol Gunes’ system.
Now, only time will tell whether Wolves will let Raul Jimenez join Besiktas as early as in January to replace the Manchester United-bound Wout Weghorst.
