Gareth Bale simply cannot wait to kick-start his Tottenham Hotspur career again, it has been claimed.

Sky Sports News cameras picked up Bale arriving at Spurs’ training ground on Friday afternoon and although there was no announcement last night, it looks imminent.

The Wales international has endured a dismal last 12 months at Real Madrid and it’s easy to forget that the former Tottenham winger is still only 31.

Bale made his name as one of football’s finest attacking players during his time in North London, culminating in an £85 million move to the Bernabeu – a world-record amount at the time – back in 2013.

And speaking on his talkSPORT show [broadcast 9am, 18.09], Jim White has revealed that Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett personally told him that his client is champing at the bit to pull on a Spurs shirt once again.

White said: “Speaking to his main representative last night, he cannot wait. He keeps on telling people, ‘I’m coming home’. And that was the message Jonathan wanted to get out last night with me. He cannot wait to get out there.”

This, if true, is a warning to the Premier League.

A hungry and motivated Gareth Bale is a very dangerous player to come up against and it bodes so well for Tottenham that he’s excited about the return.

This is a player with a big point to prove after being left out in the cold back in Madrid and, fortunately for Spurs and Jose Mourinho, he’s probably going to prove it……eventually.

According to The Sun, it might take around four weeks for Bale to be fit and sharp enough to make his second Premier League debut but when he is, watch out.
