Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is allegedly keen to bolster his ranks at Parkhead even further still this month.

Jim White shared the names of two players who he understands Brendan Rodgers wants to sign for Celtic before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, when speaking on his talkSPORT show yesterday (Wednesday January 16th).
The Hoops have already brought in some interesting new signings this month, with Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo making their way to Parkhead.
Celtic currently sit at the top of the Sottish Premiership table, ahead of Rangers on goal difference, although they do have a game in hand over Steven Gerrard’s side.
The Gers have brought in two top players this month, however, in the shape of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, so the Hoops will have their work cut-out, if they are to win their eighth consecutive league title.
Jim White told talkSPORT yesterday how Rodgers is keen to stamp Celtic’s authority in the title race by bringing two more players into the club before the end of this month:

“My understanding is there’s a recruitment meeting today to discuss two signings Brendan Rodgers would like to make. One is the Olympiakos full-back Omar Elabdellaoui. He plays international football for Norway. Also on the agenda is James McCarthy, a possible loan target from Everton. We’ll see how those develop.”
McCarthy would be a great addition for Celtic, whilst Elabdellaoui is somewhat of an unknown quantity, despite having great potential.
The Hoops seem to be determined to put Rangers in their place during the second half of the season, but only time will tell as to whether Rodgers’ new signings do the business for him between now and May.
