Aston Villa are hoping to be very busy today, with Tyrone Mings reportedly edging closer to signing.

Jim White has claimed live on TalkSPORT that Aston Villa boss Dean Smith and Christian Purslow have been up all night arranging deadline day deals.

Smith and Purslow spent yesterday at the Belfry, and they are continuing to work on transfers for Villa now.

The claret and blues are determined to be active today, with new players set to arrive at Villa Park.

It seems that Smith’s hard work could pay off for the first time already too, as Tyrone Mings edges closer to a move to Villa.

The Daily Mail have reported how Mings is set for a medical at Villa, ahead of a loan move from Bournemouth.

Villa have also been linked with Isaac Hayden and Nathaniel Chalobah on Sky Sports, but both those transfers are still a way off.

Villa are currently in 10th place in the Championship table, four points away from the play off spots.
