Rangers are set to sign Motherwell winger Jake Hastie.

Alloa Athletic boss Jim Goodwin has told The Herald that he thinks Rangers-bound Jake Hastie needs to show great confidence on his first day at the club.
The Gers had already secured one winger on a pre-contract agreement by signing Jordan Jones in January, and have now made it two with Hastie.
Rangers this evening confirmed that Hastie has signed a pre-contract agreement with the club, and will head to Ibrox once his Motherwell deal expires this summer.
Hastie, 20, has starred for Motherwell in 2019 with seven goals in 14 appearances, earning huge praise and interest thanks to his pace, power and impressive left foot.
The winger has really burst onto the scene this year, having spent the first half of the season out on loan at Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship.
Few could have possibly expected this kind of meteoric rise from Hastie, and his former Alloa boss Jim Goodwin has now given his view on the winger’s move to Ibrox.

Goodwin believes that Hastie needs to show his confidence in his own ability from his first day as a Rangers player, adding that he will improve just from being around Steven Gerrard, Gary McAllister and the Rangers squad.
Goodwin added that he doesn’t think Rangers will loan the youngster out, instead making him a part of their first-team plans next season, most likely as competition for Daniel Candeias on the right flank.
“When he goes in there for the first day of pre-season training he has to be confidence in his own ability and believe he is going to play regular first team football there,” said Goodwin. “He will definitely have two good guys to learn from in Gary McAllister and Steven Gerrard. I think training and playing with better players will only bring more out in him. No disrespect to Motherwell, but Rangers have a very good squad. Training day in, day out, with them and learning from Gary and Steven will only be of benefit to Jake’s development going forward.”
“I don’t think Rangers or Jake will be looking at him going out on loan. Jake will be going there looking to get into the first team and play regularly, simple as that. There’s no point going to Rangers and thinking ‘I am going to go out on loan again’. I don’t believe that will be the case,” he added.
