Jim Craig has told The Daily Record that Rangers could scupper Celtic’s treble chances.

Celtic are in a great position to win the domestic treble this season. The Bhoys are 25 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, have already cinched the Scottish League Cup, and have progressed to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Brendan Rodgers’s side will face Old Firm rivals Rangers at Hampden Park for a place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Although the Bhoys have a stronger team and head into the tie as favourites, former Celtic defender Craig, who is 73 years of age, believes that Rangers could get the better of them in the last four.

The Gers played out a 1-1 draw with Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.

“Nobody has the money to challenge Celtic and that’s why they could win the title 15 times in a row!” Craig told The Daily Record. “But it’s a different matter when you’re playing in a cup, in a one-off game.”

Rangers showed against Celtic at Celtic Park that they can step up their game against quality opposition.

The Gers played well against Bhoys and deservedly picked up a point from the Old Firm derby.

One suspects that the Scottish Cup semi-final tie between Celtic and Rangers will be a close affair.
