Carlos Alcaraz has a habit of producing stunning moments, and he’s delivered plenty more on his way to the Wimbledon final.

Even if he hasn’t been at his absolute best this fortnight, the way he’s moved through the draw without much trouble is a worrying sign for everyone else.

Standing between him and another Grand Slam title will be Jannik Sinner, setting up the rematch everyone’s been waiting for since their epic showdown in Paris.

Taylor Fritz put up a strong fight in Friday’s semi-final but ultimately came up short against Alcaraz, losing in four close sets.

After the match, Jim Courier joined in with more compliments for the Spaniard during his analysis of the contest.

Best moment from Wimbledon semi-final vs Taylor Fritz

When asked to pick out the best thing Alcaraz did, Courier had a simple answer: “Survive.”

He later expanded on that thought: “That moment in a tiebreaker, for me, it was probably the best thing he did. There was a lot to praise about him, good first serve percentage, 65%, a lot of aces, very few double faults. And he was able to use all of his assets the way that he needed to.

“We knew that Taylor was going to try and rip the ball and keep the points as short as he could. Taylor did very well to do that, but Carlos was able to use his athleticism to finish at the net a lot and to use his drop shot when it was available.”

This came after Fritz pinpointed the mid-match change Alcaraz made in their match which impressed him most.

Carlos Alcaraz’s road to the 2025 Wimbledon final

Alcaraz’s road to his third-straight Wimbledon final has not been all that troubling on paper.

But whether it be nerves or something else entirely, he has made it more difficult than necessary at times.

He kickstarted his title defence against Fabio Fognini, with the veteran pushing his 22-year-old opponent in an unconvincing five-set encounter. While there were glimpses of brilliance in this performance, most fans will remember it for how error-prone both players were.

Oliver Tarvet came next. The young Brit lost in straight sets but gave a good account of himself in front of a home crowd.

The Spaniard then dropped sets against Jan-Lennard Struff and Andrey Rublev but still won both matches comfortably in four before putting together arguably his best showing so far against Cameron Norrie.

The semi-final against Fritz proved more challenging. The American had two set points late on but couldn’t take advantage, allowing Alcaraz another chance at defending his crown on Centre Court this Sunday.
