Nottingham Forest are reportedly keen on appointing Nigel Clough as their new manager – but are their supporters?
Nottingham Forest have approached Nigel Clough with a view to appointing the Burton Albion boss to their vacant managerial hot seat, according to The BBC.

Nigel, the son of legendary Forest manager Brian Clough, played for Forest between 1984 and 1993 – racking up over 100 goals in 311 games before signing for Liverpool upon the Tricky Trees’ relegation from the top flight.

Cough returned to the City Ground for a 13 game loan spell from Manchester City in 1997, before a ten year spell as Burton’s player-manager. Clough’s managerial career has seen the 50-year-old follow in his famous father’s footsteps once before – as Derby County manager between 2009 and 2013.

After a near-18-month spell in charge of Sheffield United, Clough returned to Burton in December 2015, guiding them to promotion to the Championship – but the opportunity of taking over at Forest may well prove too tempting to shy away from.
Indeed, Clough recently eluded to such – as when referencing the managerial link he suggested to the BBC that “It’s very difficult when you spent 18 years – I’m just over 50 years old – so a third of my life involved with a certain club [Nottingham Forest]”.

Supporters of Forest have also expressed their thoughts at the prospect of a Clough taking charge in the dug-out once again – with a significant sense of despair.
Here’s a taste of the Forest fans’ response to the reported approach for Nigel Clough.
