Southampton supporters on Twitter expressed their dismay at their side’s 2-1 loss to Premier League strugglers Hull City.

After Charlie Austin’s early penalty gave Southampton a sixth minute lead against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium, fans of the Saints could be forgiven for anticipating a second victory in a matter of days.

Following Southampton’s midweek Europa League triumph over Italian giants Inter Milan, many supporters of the south coast club were in jubilant mood ahead of the trip to face Mike Phelan’s side.

However, Claude Puel’s men self-destructed and conceded twice within the space of a couple of second-half minutes.
