A late Barnsley strike left Nottingham Forest with their fourth successive Championship defeat, with many a furious fan to boot.
Nottingham Forest were two minutes from claiming their first clean sheet in 18 home games but were denied a single point, curtesy of a long range volley from Barnsley’s Conor Hourihane.

Disappointingly, home side Forest were unable to muster a single attempt on goal at any stage of the match, despite forward Nicklas Bendtner having a goal chalked off for offside just one minute prior to Hourihane’s differential strike for the visitors.

The subsequent 1-0 loss was Forest’s fifth defeat in six games, with Philippe Montanier’s side securing just one point from the last 18 on offer – leaving the club languishing in 20th place in the Championship table, just two points from the relegation zone.

Considering that Forest are heading into the January transfer window under a transfer embargo, thanks to delays in submitting audited accounts, and the future of the club’s ownership being subject to an apparent impending takeover, the status of the two-time European Cup winners is a great concern for supporters.

Following their defeat to Barnsley, fans of Forest made their stance well known, with reactions ranging from anger to despair.
The vast majority of which seemed to be aimed at owner Fawaz Al Hasawi, the wish to replace manager Montanier with recently departed Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett, and the hope that a takeover may provide some much needed solace.
Here’s a taste of the reaction to Forest’s latest defeat and current status.
