Everton manager Ronald Koeman and Burnley manager Sean Dyche shake hands at full time

Everton welcome Burnley to Goodison Park this weekend hoping to pile further pressure on Arsenal’s chances of making the top six.

Ronald Koeman’s Toffees currently sit level on point with the Gunners, but are fully aware that a victory over 12th placed Burnley will demote Arsene Wenger’s men to seventh position ahead of their Monday trip to Middlesbrough.

With seven successive home victories, and the prolific Romelu Lukaku currently firing on all cylinders, Everton certainly have form on their side heading into the match-up with Burnley.

Lukaku, the Premier League top scorer, is fully expected to lead the line with the support of Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas – with the latter fresh on the back of two assists during the 4-2 victory over Leicester City last time out.

It is anticipated that Everton will make just one change to their line-up, with captain Ashley Williams set for a return to Koeman’s defence – at the expense of Matthew Pennington. Williams is likely to start alongside fellow stalwart Phil Jagielka, as part of a back four still missing Seamus Coleman and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Meanwhile, opponents Burnley head to Merseyside buoyed by the availability of midfielders Steven Defour and, after a midweek outing with the under-23s, Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

However, the most likely change to manager Sean Dyche’s line-up could be in attack, with Sam Vokes expected to replace Ashley Barnes and partner Andre Gray as part of a tried and trusted 4-4-2 system.
