Derby County were outclassed throughout their 3-0 Championship defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Derby County fans, especially those who made the long trip to to the south coast on Friday for the Championship encounter against Brighton and Hove Albion, were left hugely disappointed by the 3-0 defeat – a result that leaves the Rams with just one victory from their last ten matches.
The pattern of the encounter was set as early as the fifth minute, as Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert executed a fine 20-yard finish to give the home side the lead, before Sam Baldock gave the Seagulls a two-goal advantage before half time.
Derby, who recorded no shots on target, were unable to find any kind of footing in the game and fell further behind after Brighton’s Glenn Murray confirmed the win with a 78th minute goal – the 63rd league strike of Brighton’s season thus far.
The trio of scorers against Derby – Knockhaert, Baldock and Murray – now have 42 of these Championship goals between them.
However, the space and opportunities afforded to Brighton’s front three by a poor Derby unit was a key component of the tie, as Brighton managed to pepper Derby’s goal with regularity, producing 16 attempts.
It appears that fans of the Rams are far from impressed with the performance, commitment and application of the players, with many a Derby supporter taking to social media outlet Twitter to express their despair after the result.
