Everton and Arsenal could have their answer to Gabriel Jesus if Palmeiras wonderkid Gabriel Veron swaps Brazil for the Premier League this summer, with the club’s technical director hailing a ‘jewel’ of a player in quotes reported by Yahoo.

It seems that, with every week that goes by, a new Samba starlet emerges onto the scene.

And, like Thiago Almada, Talles Magno and Gustavo Maia, it seems only a matter of time before teen sensation Veron is packing his bags and heading for Europe.

Palmeiras have rejected a £12 million offer from Everton, according to Yahoo. But if the Toffees, or Arsenal for that matter, return with a bid closer to £25 million, one of the biggest clubs in Brazil may be forced to cash in.

“I think he will be one of Palmeiras’ jewels. Of course, he needs to be polished. We have to be calm (but he has) great potential. Fast, explosive player, I see him on the same path as Gabriel Jesus,” said technical director Edu Dracena, comparing Veron to a player who left Palmeiras for Manchester City in a £27 million deal.

“I see a very promising path and it is up to him to listen and put it into practice. Veron will be very important for the club.”

Interestingly, there appears to be a growing Samba influence at both Arsenal and Everton – and that is in no small part down to the influence of super-agent Kia Joorabchian.

It was he who played a major role in the deals that brought Richarlison and Bernard to Goodison Park (Echo), while Joorabchian is also understood to have an excellent relationship with Arsenal director Edu Gaspar.

Could Veron join Gabriel Martinelli and David Luiz in north London?
