Jesus Gamez is leaving Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Jesus Gamez has taken to social networking site Twitter to announce that he is leaving Newcastle United.
Gamez joined Newcastle from Spanish club Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2016 on a two-year contract, as reported by BBC Sport.
The 33-year-old right-back, who earns £35,000 per week salary according to The Daily Star, has announced on Twitter that he is leaving the Magpies this summer.

Gamez arrived at Newcastle in the summer of 2016 amid much expectation, but the right-back failed to make a massive impact at St. James’ Park.
During the 2016-17 campaign, the former Atletico defender could manage just 201 minutes of Championship football for the Magpies, while this past season, he made only one start and one substitute appearance for Rafael Benitez’s side in the Premier League.
One suspects that Gamez will not be a massive miss for Newcastle, who did quite well in the Premier League this past season.
It will be interesting to see which club the 33-year-old former Malaga right-back now joins in the summer transfer window.
