Jesse Marsch has told his press conference – as per the Evening Post – that Adam Forshaw, Leo Hjelde and Stuart Dallas have all undergone new operations, ahead of Leeds United’s clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Leeds come into the clash against Palace in a poor run of form, picking up two points from their last four games. But they fought hard last time out to secure a 0-0 draw, having gone down to 10 men against Aston Villa at Elland Road.
Dallas continues to be sidelined after a leg break, with his return time widely expected before Marsch’s presser due to be the new year. The American gaffer says Dallas has gone under the knife, and is still a couple of months out.
Marsch has also said that Leo Hjelde as had an appendectomy, while Adam Forshaw has also gone under the knife. He has been forced to correct a hernia issue. The Leeds gaffer also gave an update on youngster Archie Gray.

On Dallas, he said: “He’s had another procedure. Doing really well. It’ll be a couple of months before he’s back on the pitch. Forshaw out for a month after surgery on hernia. Hjelde has appendectomy. Archie Gray improving.”
Marsch: Forshaw and Dallas have undergone new operations
It is not a huge blow to hear that these four will be missing from Sunday’s clash. Gray is still a rookie and has spent time on the sidelines, so his update is nothing new – more that he is progressing well. Dallas was expected new year.
Having Forshaw out for a month is a blow, but Leeds do have other options in the middle of the park. Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk can play there, as of course can Mateusz Klich. But again, it does not affect the starting XI.
With Hjelde, he would simply be warming the bench. So, while it is three new operations, it is not a big loss to the club in terms of players that are actually going to play. Luis Sinisterra will be suspended for Sunday’s trip to London.
