Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jesse Marsch has delivered an update on the fitness of Diego Llorente.
Marsch says that Llorente didn’t train on Thursday, and therefore, it is questionable as to whether or not he’ll be able to play against Leicester City at the weekend.
It’s bad enough being a new manager and having to select your first XI, but when one of your best centre-backs picks up a knock, it’s an absolute nightmare.
Unfortunately, Marsch just isn’t sure if Llorente will be able to play against Leicester.
What’s been said?
Marsch was asked to give an update on the fitness of his players.
“It’s difficult to say. We’ll evaluate Patrick and whether or not he can be on the bench, but he’s close, I can tell you that, he’s close. Diego Llorente was not in training today and he’s questionable for the weekend, and there are a few others that are step by step to make sure we prepare them as well as possible, but not too hard,” Marsch said.

Worth the risk
Playing Llorente this weekend could be worth the risk for Marsch, even if he isn’t 100 per cent.
Liam Cooper is out injured, while Robin Koch may be needed in the midfield, so if Llorente is available, Marsch should play him.
Of course, you don’t want to aggravate any injury, but at this point in the season, you need to put out the strongest team you possibly can at any given occasion as Leeds stare relegation in the face.
Playing Llorente is a risk worth taking.
