Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jesse Marsch has been discussing Crysencio Summerville and his hat-trick for the U23s this week.
The Dutch winger has been shining for the youth team for quite some time now, and while Marsch is yet to give him a chance in the first-team, he’s certainly catching his eye.
Marsch says that the winger has already improved in the month that he’s been at the club, while he says that he actually talks to the youngster about his behaviour and his mentality off the pitch every single day.
What’s been said?
Marsch spoke about Summerville and his development.
“I thought he played fantastic. I think he’s grown since I’ve been here more and more and more. I’ve spoken to him about his behaviour and mentality every day off of the pitch and what he needs to be like when he shows up and what the workweek needs to look like, the style of play that we want and how to learn the tactics and behaviours. For me, he has grown a lot in the past month. I think this performance is a representation of his behaviour, his work ethic and his mentality to try to work and adapt,” Marsch said.

Big future
Marsch seems to have spent a lot of time one on one with Summerville, and that indicates that the American has some big plans for the winger.
The fact that Marsch speaks to Summerville everyday about his behaviour and mentality is a positive sign, he wants to steer him in the right direction and after these comments, it sounds as though the youngster is coming along nicely.
Leeds are currently in a relegation scrap, so rotation would be risky, but don’t be surprised if we see a lot more of Summerville in Marsch’s squad next season.
