Jesse Marsch had said that Maximilian Wober is already a leader within the side, after Leeds United were held to a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.
It was as recently as last week, when Wober completed a transfer to Leeds for £11 million (Sky Sports).
As a result, it does come as a surprise that Marsch already feels the versatile defender has emerged as a leader in the side.
So far, Maximilian Wober has played a mere 30 minutes of football for Leeds, making his debut for the side in the FA Cup against Cardiff City.
Against West Ham United, Wober was on the bench as he witnessed the Whites earn a 2-2 draw at Elland Road.
It seems as if the Austrian international was brought into the club in January, as Jesse Marsch views him as an option both at centre-back as well as at left-back.
Keeping that in mind, Wober always seemed like an extremely handy addition to the side.
However, the latest comments from the American tactician prove that he could be useful for his qualities in the dressing room as well.

Jesse Marsch has said that Maximilian Wober has emerged as a leader in no time since joining Leeds United, after his side’s 2-2 draw in the FA Cup against Cardiff City.
“Max [Wober], for a young player, he’s very mature, he’s a leader.”
“He absolute let calm things down and helped made the right decisions to bring us [Leeds] back into the game [in the FA Cup]”, March told the official club website.
Wober could be a transformative signing in survival battle
While quality is undoubtedly the most key element that one hopes to see from any signing, it seems as if Maximilian Wober could bring a steeliness to Leeds, who are hoping not to get relegated.
Just 2 points above the relegation zone in the Premier League currently, a drop is not out of the picture to say the least.
However, with leaders like Wober taking charge, on and off the pitch as implied by Jesse Marsch after his side’s FA Cup result, Leeds could prolong their time in the English top-flight.
