According to the latest update provided by Fabrizio Romano about the Leicester City manager situation, Jesse Marsch is now the favourite to take over the role.

Brendan Rodgers was shown the door by the Foxes after they were languishing in 19th place in the Premier League in what has been a hellish season for them.

As Leicester City are on the lookout for a new manager, it seems like Jesse Marsch is best-placed to get the job and return to the English top-flight.

Jesse Marsch now looking likely to become Leicester manager

After his spell at Leeds United, the American coach’s reputation is in a strange place.

While some believe Marsch was inept and despite saving Leeds from relegation last season, he got found, there are others like Tyler Adams who claim that is ‘very underrated’ tactically while speaking to NBC Sport.

As Jesse Marsch may be on the search to taking over the manager role in the hopes of redeeming himself, it seems Leicester may be willing to give him his window of opportunity, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The credible journalist tweeted that the ex-RB Leipzig boss is one of the ‘favourite’ candidates for the role, while saying discussions between his representatives and the club are ongoing.

Additionally, negotiations are expected to continue on Saturday as well to reach a full agreement.

Marsch has been there and done that

After Marcelo Bielsa was sacked by Leeds, the 49-year-old had the impossible job of replacing the face of the club by all means, whilst trying to save them from relegation.

And during the backend of the 2021/2022 season, Jesse Marsch managed to do that and perhaps that is what has prompted Leicester to view him as one of, if not the prime candidate to become their next manager.

While Marsch may not seem like a relegation firefighter due to his brand of football, it is worth noting that he has got the job done before.
