Just over a week after being sacked by Leeds United, Jesse Marsch is set to return to the Premier League with Southampton.

Interestingly, Marsch will seemingly now be back in work before Leeds have managed to replace him at Elland Road.

Leeds United’s inability to replace Marsch before he managed to get another job is a clear sign of poor planning and poor leadership from the higher-ups at Elland Road, who clearly haven’t done enough due-diligence on the current managerial market.

The likes of Marcelo Gallardo, Arne Slot, Carlos Corberan and Andoni Iraola have already turned Leeds down, and there was seemingly no implementable plan in place after Marsch’s departure.

Marsch’s appointment at Southampton just days after they sacked Nathan Jones just goes to highlight the poor planning and poor decision-making and is a major embarrassment for Leeds’ owner, Andrea Radrizzani.

Radrizzani stated just last week that he was close to appointing a new manager, and with every passing hour, the situation is being made to look worse and worse.

The situation in West Yorkshire highlights the importance of having a clear plan in place when it comes to replacing a manager, something that Southampton seemed to have when getting rid of Jones.

Marsch had no control over his future after Leeds let him go, but, somehow, he’s going to up back in work before his former club have found a new gaffer, it’s preposterous that this is how this situation is playing out.

Radrizzani’s inability to replace Jesse Marsch is a clear sign of poor planning and leadership, while the fact that he couldn’t help but post false promises on Twitter has made it look even worse.

The fact that Marsch has already found a new job while Leeds are still searching for a replacement is a serious embarrassment for the club and its owner, and it just doesn’t look good from the outside looking in.

It is crucial that Leeds United take a step back, evaluate their plan and take a more proactive approach in order to find a suitable replacement for Marsch sooner rather than later, because the pressure is only going to be turned up the longer this goes on.
