Jesse Marsch has told Thursday’s press conference – as per Leeds Live – that it will be a “challenge” to keep Raphinha at Leeds amid reports that Barcelona and Arsenal want to sign the Brazil international this summer.
Raphinha, 25, has been magnificent for Leeds since he joined the club from Rennes on deadline day in 2020. He has since clocked up 57 Premier League appearances, having a hand in 27 goals – scoring 15 and creating 12.

Fabrizio Romano recently stated that while Barcelona are leading the race to sign the winger, Arsenal have also made enquiries to land the Brazil ace. It seems more and more clear that Raphinha will leave Leeds this summer.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against Southampton at Elland Road, Marsch was asked about the reports linking Raphinha with the exit door. He stated that it is his “challenge” to keep him in Yorkshire this summer.
“He was incredible in the 45-minute test match we had. A massive talent and my challenge is, despite all of the talk, is to have the relationship where we can focus on his development in helping the team while he is here.
“Haven’t had a word with him about Deco or Barcelona. He is fantastic. Just want him to become the player I know he can be. Of course we want him to stay as long as possible. Fantastic player and very good person.”
Marsch on Raphinha: Can Leeds keep him, where is his best move?
Leeds look in a good position to stay in the Premier League, with eight games to play and a decent-enough run-in. If Leeds are relegated, Raphinha will be sold for just £25million – due to a relegation release clause.
But even if Leeds stay up, the chances are that Raphinha leaves Leeds. If Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, joining the Gunners has a chance but with Deco as agent – Barca seems likely, if they can afford him.
