Jesse Marsch has delivered an injury update on five Leeds players ahead of Saturday’s clash against Brighton – as per the club’s YouTube – stating that Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo could be back in Leeds training as early as next week.
Leeds come into the match after a wonderful start to the season. Seven points from a possible nine in the Premier League after wins over Chelsea and Wolves – and a draw with Southampton – was followed by a Carabao Cup win.
A brace for Mateusz Klich and a goal on his first start from Luis Sinisterra saw Leeds win 3-1. Klich scored a penalty and then a neat finish from 12 yards out. Sinisterra got the pick of the goals, curling an effort into the corner from 25 yards.
Ahead of Brighton, Marsch gave an update on Ayling, Firpo, Mateusz Bogusz, Stuart Dallas and Patrick Bamford. He says Ayling, Bogusz and Firpo could be back next week. Dallas is months away. A Bamford decision is yet to be made.

“Junior, Luke – they will be in training next week. Bogusz too. Stuart is months away, but looking good. Bamford the big question. Form of the team allows us to be patient. We still have a decision to make this week,” Marsch said.

It is a big boost to a squad that already looks very strong, to have Ayling and Firpo to return to training. Bogusz could be given a chance to show why he deserves to be involved, but it is likely he will be with the 23’s this season.
Dallas could be back ahead of schedule. Early signs suggested he might only return after the turn of the year. Marsch makes a good point that the form of the Leeds side could allow Bamford to be patient regarding his return.
What is clear, is that the Leeds squad looks strong. Even with Ayling, Firpo, Bamford and Dallas still on the sidelines.
