Fabrizio Romano has said on The United Stand that West Ham United are in contact with the agents of Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that West Ham are still pushing to bring Lingard back to London Stadium.

The 28-year-old, who can also play as a winger, spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham from the Red Devils.

Lingard scored nine goals and gave four assists in 16 league appearances for the Hammers.

Romano said about Lingard on The United Stand: “At the moment, from what I am told, the situation with West Ham is that they have still no agreement on payment terms, so that’s why it’s not easy for West Ham to afford Lingard, but they are still in contact with Lingard, with his agents. So they want Lingard and they are still pushing for Jesse Lingard.”

Could a transfer happen?

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told United’s official website this week that Lingard is still in his plans.

However, if the England international thinks that he will not play regularly for the Red Devils next season, then he could be tempted to leave this summer.

The 28-year-old was brilliant during his loan spell at West Ham and helped the London club to Europa League qualification.

West Ham manager David Moyes would love the attacker to be back in his team.

The summer transfer window will be open for a few more weeks, and there is very chance that a deal could happen.
