Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is hoping that West Ham United make a bid for him amid interest from Newcastle United, according to ESPN.
ESPN have reported today that Lingard is prepared to join Newcastle in the January transfer window, but only on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder is reportedly hoping that West Ham make a move for him now.
The England international spent the second half of last season on loan at the Hammers from Manchester United.
Lingard scored nine goals and gave four assists in 16 Premier League appearances during his loan spell at West Ham.
Newcastle or West Ham United for Jesse Lingard?
In our view, Newcastle are a more feasible option than West Ham for Lingard at the moment.
West Ham are competing with Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers for a place in the Premier League top four.

So, in our opinion, Manchester United will surely not want to sell Lingard to direct rivals such as West Ham.
Now, Newcastle are in relegation battle, and we can understand why Eddie Howe’s side may not be too appealing to Lingard.
However, all things considered, Newcastle may end up being as the most viable option for Lingard.
