Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Jesse Lingard has told The Express that his heart is at Manchester United.
Lingard has been at United his entire professional club football career so far and has a contract with the Red Devils until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Earlier this month, The Mirror reported that Tottenham are interested in signing the England international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
The 24-year-old has commented on his future, stating that his heart is at United.
“No, I haven’t signed a new contract,” Lingard told The Express. “It’s still ongoing talks at the moment. I enjoy playing for Manchester United, and my heart is at Manchester United.
“You always want to play football, to be in the team, and it’s always a battle at United. I think that’s good for the group, though. It’s always good to have great players around you.”
Lingard is a talented and promising footballer, but it would be wise of Tottenham to stay clear of him.
It is clear that the 24-year-old wants to remain at United, and that he would leave Old Trafford begrudgingly.
This means that joining Tottenham would not be first choice. Why would Spurs want to sign a player who does not even want to be at White Hart Lane?
Although Lingard has quality, there are better attacking players in the Premier League and in mainland Europe. Spurs should try for them, not the United man.
