He’s a teammate of the Rangers manager Steven Gerrard and played at Ibrox recently

Jermaine Pennant has revealed a soft spot for Rangers.
Pennant, whose former teammate Steven Gerrard is the current Rangers manager, played in the recent legends game at Ibrox.
The one-time £6.7 million Liverpool recruit was part of the Reds side that beat their Rangers counterparts earlier this month.
And asked about his Ibrox experience on Talksport earlier (Monday), Pennant replied: “I really enjoyed it. Great experience. Loved it. Loved Ibrox.
“Yeah, there was (a chance to join Rangers) – back in the day. I think – was I at Arsenal? Possibly – we played a pre-season game there (in 2003) and from then it took my breath away. I’ve always had a soft spot for Rangers ever since I got into football, but there was talks of me going.”

The game to which Pennant referred saw Rangers comfortably beaten 3-0 by an Arsenal side that proceeded to win the Premier League without defeat the following season.
Rangers finished second to Celtic that campaign with Chris Burke occupying Pennant’s right-wing role.
The 36-year-old joined Leeds United on loan later that summer, before permanent spells at Birmingham City, Liverpool, Real Zaragoza and Stoke City – among others.
His last notable playing spell came with the English non-league side Billericay Town.
Would Pennant have been a useful addition for Rangers?
