Harry Kane has already had one spell out this season with an ankle injury.

Now it appears he is set for another.

Kane limped off the pitch in Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League quarter final tie with Manchester City midway through the second half.

Near to the touchline he attempted to block a pass by Fabian Delph and the Manchester City star followed through and landed on Kane’s ankle.

Kane immediately came off the pitch and hobbled off, his involvement over.

Former Spurs star Jermaine Jenas fears that could be it for Kane’s season.

He told BBC Sport: “That looks like the left ankle issue Harry Kane has been struggling with for his whole career. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play again this season.”

Kane missed around five weeks of action in January and February due to his previous injury, sustained against Manchester United.

The good news is Spurs coped well without him before and their performance after he went off last night suggests fans do not have be disconsolate about his potential absence.
