Jermaine Jenas has told BBC Sport that AS Monaco youngster Thomas Lemar would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The former Tottenham midfielder has also stated that he has not been convinced by Spurs duo Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
“The likes of Everton’s Ross Barkley and Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez have been mentioned, but I like Monaco’s Thomas Lemar who is a very good player and definitely fits the mould,” Jeans told BBC Sport.
“Spurs need quality and quantity in those positions so they can rotate if they have to without it affecting the team because I don’t think Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, who both arrived last summer, have been the answer at all.”
Quality player
Lemar is one of the best young attacking players in Europe and has been in stunning form for Monaco this season.
The 21-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or as a winger, has scored nine goals and provided nine assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances this season, according to WhoScored.
In nine Champions League starts this campaign, the France international scored two goals and provided four assists, according to WhoScored.
Competition
If Tottenham do decide to make a move for Lemar in the summer transfer window, then they will face competition from North London rivals Arsenal.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is interested in signing the former Caen youngster in the summer.
