Jermaine Jenas wants Tottenham Hotspur to sign a “top centre-forward” to join Harry Kane in a two-pronged attack.

Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sports that he wants Tottenham Hotspur to sign a “top centre-forward” in January to play alongside red-hot Harry Kane.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino only plays with one central striker and Kane’s form in recent seasons has meant that the likes of Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente have had no chance of starting ahead of him.
Tottenham have been labouring domestically in recent weeks and though Kane has three goals in his last four games for the Lilywhites, there is a sense that he is not in the best of form.

But Jenas is bored of seeing him up front on his own and urges Pochettino to sign a top-class striker to play alongside the England international in a two-pronged attack from January onward.
He told BT Sport: “People like to talk about this lesser type of player which needs to suit Harry Kane. I think it’s time now to go and get someone to play with him.
“They play with three at the back anyway. You’ve seen with Morata and Hazard and their kind of relationship. I’d like to go and see Tottenham spend some real money to bring in a top centre-forward to play with Harry Kane.”

Jenas’s plan would certainly mean that Llorente’s role has diminished and the Spaniard showed promising signs of life in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over APOEL by scoring his first goal for Tottenham at the 17th time of asking.
It remains to be seen how Spurs fans would perceive their former midfielder’s suggestion. Is it worth potentially making Kane less of a phenom in the goalscoring stakes by giving him a striking partner? Perhaps, but if Pochettino feels that the team would benefit then surely it’s the right move.
