Speaking on Vibe With Five, Jermaine Jenas has been discussing Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, comparing their partnership to the partnership Kane has with Raheem Sterling for England.
There’s no doubt about it, Son and Kane have one of the best attacking partnerships in Premier League history. They’ve combined for more goals than any other duo, and they both have Golden Boots in their trophy cabinets.
However, Jenas has been a bit more cynical about this pairing, stating that there’s only one thing Heung-Min Son gives to Harry Kane on the pitch, and that’s his ability to run forwards.

Jenas gives his verdict on Son and Kane
The pundit spoke about Son and Kane’s partnership and what the South Korean brings.
“When you’re talking about Son and Kane. There’s only one thing that Son gives to Kane. He runs forward. Kane drops in and Son runs forward. Raheem Sterling runs forward more than any player that we have, Southgate is a glass half empty guy, so he’s going to hold back instead of let go with this group of players,” Jenas said.
Harsh
Tottenham lost at the weekend to Arsenal, so it’s not necessarily the time to be praising this group of players, but this seems incredibly harsh to us.
Son and Kane are brilliant together, and while Kane is the more creative of the two, to say that Son only brings forward running to this partnership is just plain wrong.
Son has assisted Kane on countless occasions, he finishes chances when Kane isn’t at his best, and he’s also a great player in the dressing room, which surely affects Kane as much as any other player.
Jenas is right, Son’s running is his main attribute in this partnership, but it’s by no means the only thing he brings to the game for Kane.
