The Tottenham Hotspur stopper had a difficult afternoon against Liverpool.

Jermaine Jenas was highly critical of Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, when speaking during a guest appearance on Match of the Day 2 last night, suggesting that his performance against Liverpool was ‘unacceptable’.

Spurs eventually lost the game against the Reds 2-1, despite dominating the second-half, and Jürgen Klopp’s side had Lloris to thank, after the World Cup winning stopper’s howler in the final minute of normal time at Anfield.

The 32-year-old has experienced somewhat of a tumultuous campaign thus far.

He has made numerous glaring errors, but at the same time, he has also produced match winning displays against Arsenal in the Premier League and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League to name but a few.

That didn’t stop Jenas from tearing into Lloris’s display against Liverpool yesterday, suggesting that the Tottenham skipper had a shocker, when speaking during a guest appearance on Match of the Day 2 last night:

“That’s a shocker from Hugo Lloris – a World Cup winner, a so-called world-class goalkeeper, that’s just not acceptable, in a moment when Spurs are chasing top four, they need better from their captain.”

Lloris and Tottenham will have to bounce back quickly, with a home game against Crystal Palace coming up on Wednesday night, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be desperate to christen their new home with a victory against the Eagles.
