Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been quoted as saying by BBC Sport (21:31) that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge creates a fear factor.

Jenas made the comment about Sturridge during the Premier League game between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in London on Friday evening.

The 27-year-old striker started the match and played for 57 minutes, as the Reds won 2-1.

During his time on the pitch, the former Manchester City and Chelsea striker took three shots and created one chance.

Former Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder Jenas was following the match, and the Englishman was impressed with the performance of Sturridge.

The former Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers man said that the Liverpool striker created a fear factor.

“I don’t think it comes as any surprise Liverpool have gone off the boil since Daniel Sturridge has gone off,” BBC Sport quotes Jenas as saying (21:31).

“You cannot underestimate the impact he has – he creates a fear factor and drops into midfield to help the play. He came off with an injury but it still highlights his importance.”
