Former Tottenham star is starting to believe.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport that he is starting to believe in the club’s Champions League chances.
Ahead of last night’s win over Borussia Dortmund, Jenas had written off the club’s chances of qualification to the knockout stages.
Jenas told The Express in the lead up to the game: “I wouldn’t put any money on them getting through this group. Not as it stands. I just haven’t been given much confidence just yet.”
Quizzed on his comments after Spurs’ 3-1 win over Dortmund, Jenas began to backtrack a little.
He told BT Sport’s post-game coverage: “There is a lot to happen in this group yet, but that’s made me feel a lot better.
“It was a good start after a poor start last season.”
In the 2016/17 campaign, Spurs lost their home opener to Monaco at Wembley and never really recovered.
This victory helps scotch any talk of a stadium curse for the team, crucial as it is where they are playing all their home games this season.
Tottenham’s next match is against Cypriot team APOEL away from home before back to back matches against Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid.
