Jermaine Jenas has stated on Twitter that he went from ‘punching a hole in the sofa’ to ‘knee sliding in the hallway’ following the drama of Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Manchester City.

In the dying moments of the game, City thought they had won the encounter when Gabriel Jesus scored from inside the area, but the goal was ruled out because of a handball in the build-up to the goal.

VAR has caused a lot of controversies since it was brought into full force this season, with the new handball rule especially causing a talking point.

But despite all the drama, Spurs recorded a valuable point on the road and that against the Premier League champions, with Jenas sending this Twitter message in regards to the ruled out goal at the end.

In regards to VAR, it has done its job in making the correct decisions, but it is perhaps the rules that need to be looked at and tweaked.

In this case, it fell in Spurs’ favour because during the game at the Etihad, they produced a poor display by their standard, but they left with a point.

With Heung-Min Son yet to start a league game this season because of suspension, his return will add extra bite to Spurs’ backline as they bid to finish in the top-four again.
