Aaron Cresswell has played 37 times for West Ham United this season.
Jermaine Jenas has told Yahoo that Aaron Cresswell’s brilliant form for West Ham United has gone unnoticed this season.
Cresswell isn’t as much of a headline grabber as many of his teammates at Upton Park, but the left-back has still put together a very solid campaign.
And Jenas feels that the former Ipswich Town man deserves more credit for his attacking ability.
“The way he gets up and down the pitch and the quality of his delivery is excellent,” Jenas said.
“His work has gone almost unnoticed due to the form of other players in the team, such as Dimitri Payet, but I think he’s one of the Hammers’ most important players.
“He had a good season last year, but I think he has kicked on again this year – especially in recent weeks. He also has a phenomenal fitness record, having missed just one game in two seasons for the Hammers, so he can be relied upon to stay fit.”
Cresswell only joined West Ham in 2014, but he has quickly become a key part of their starting line-up.
The 26-year-old was a regular last term, and he has racked up 37 appearances for the Hammers this time around.
Cresswell is still uncapped for England, but his strong form has led to talk of him going to EURO 2016, and Jenas believes he should be in consideration for a call-up.
“On form, I’d put [Danny] Rose top of that list [of left-backs], followed by Cresswell, [Charlie] Daniels, [Kieran] Gibbs and [Leighton] Baines.”
Cresswell’s good form has helped West Ham make a run for the top four, with Bilic’s side currently sat just two points away from the Champions League qualification spaces.
