Jermaine Jenas has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Kyle Walker’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
Walker has left Tottenham for Premier League rivals City on a five-year contract, as announced on the Citizens’ official website.
According to The Daily Mail, City have had to pay Spurs a transfer fee of £54 million in order to secure the services of the England international defender.
Former Tottenham midfielder Jenas, who is now 34 years of age, has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Walker’s switch from Spurs to City.
Jenas’s point about sending out a message is valid. Walker is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, and Tottenham selling him to City only strengthens Pep Guardiola’s side.
Of course, £54m is a lot of money and one can understand that it was tempting for Spurs, but it is only going to make it more difficult for the North London outfit to win the Premier League title next season.
