Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has named two old Spurs teammates in his dream Premier League 5-a-side team alongside an Arsenal hero.

Jenas played 155 times for Spurs over eight years in North London scoring 21 goals.

It was the best spell of an injury-blighted career which came to an end when he officially announced his retirement earlier this year.

The former England midfielder also played for Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League.

When it came to choosing his ultimate 5-a-side team on BT Sport, Jenas plumped for two former Spurs teammates, two ex Manchester United stars and an Arsenal legend with a somewhat surprising snub for Gareth Bale.

“Goalie I would have to go for (Peter) Schmeichel, I don’t think there’s been a better Premier League goalie,” Jenas tiold BT Sport.

“Mr dodgy gear Rio (Ferdinand) would be in there.

“(I’d have Luka) Modric in there, brilliant on the ball. Bale (and) Thierry Henry.”

There are no real surprises in Jenas’ selections even if he did have to pick a player from Spurs’ arch rivals Arsenal.

With the devastating goalscoring prowess of Bale and Henry being fed by Bale’s Real Madrid teammate Modric, it would be a team to strike fear into any side.

Jenas’ career never really reached the heights predicted when he first emerged as a talent at Nottingham Forest.

Just 341 appearances in a career spanning 14 years tells its own story.
