While the points have arrived, former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas has made an observation that is potentially very worrying.
Jenas has pointed out that it was defender Jamaal Lascelles who scored against Swansea and also the winner against Stoke.
“Just to put a slight dampener on it, I suppose – it has been absolutely phenomenal what they have been able to achieve – it has been their centre-half that has popped up with their last two winners,” Jenas told BBC Sport.
Newcastle need one of their strikers to start scoring goals regularly, as they cannot rely on their defenders or midfielders to bail them out.
The Magpies will face Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League this afternoon.
