Jermaine Jenas raves about Kieran Dyer from their Newcastle United days.

Jermaine Jenas has reflected on his Newcastle United spell alongside the “phenomenal” Kieron Dyer, in an interview with Four Four Two.
Jenas, 33, played with Dyer for three years at Newcastle, before the former left to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2005.

The 37-year-old’s career was blighted by injury for the most part, but Jenas felt justified in including him in his best XI of former team-mates in a team which includes Paul Scholes and Luka Modric.
“Picking him might come as a shock, but Kieron was phenomenal in his prime at Newcastle,” explained Jenas to Four Four Two.
“A number of big clubs wanted him. I’m telling you, he was a special player.”

Dyer, who won 33 England caps, hung up his boots in 2013 at the age of 34 after failing to earn a contract extension with Middlesbrough, then in the Championship.
After leaving Newcastle in 2007, Dyer joined West Ham United but managed just 30 Premier League appearances during his four-year stay at Upton Park.
He then joined QPR, and later Middlesbrough, but clocked 14 appearances for both over a two-year spell.
