Former Spurs midfielder is worried that Dele Alli could be tempted away from the club next summer.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has voiced his fear this could be Dele Alli’s final season at the club.

Speaking to The Express, Jenas said that he expects Alli’s standing in the world game to soar over the next 12 months, putting him firmly on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Alli has enjoyed two fantastic seasons at Spurs in which he has established himself as a must pick at international level.

Like with Gareth Bale, Jenas feels Spurs may become a victim of Alli’s success.

He said: “Leading up to the World Cup you can see him being the poster boy for England so it’s a big year for Dele to put himself on the global scale. From Tottenham’s point of view it may be a bit scary as I don’t see how they keep him.

“If he has a season like he has just enjoyed then performs well for England, you can pretty much say he has gone to Real Madrid or Barcelona just like that.”

Jenas concedes that the one biggest factor working against his theory is Tottenham’s new stadium, which he feels could tempt the midfielder to stay.

He added: “If he walks into that new stadium next year and feels what I expect him to feel, it will be tough for him to leave.”

Jenas also went onto state that he feels Alli is worth £200 million, the same price bracket as Neymar, and Tottenham should not accept anything less for the midfielder.

While Alli could earn more if he clinches a big move, Tottenham have him under contract until 2022.

Letting him leave just as the club move into their new stadium would be a PR disaster for the club, and while Alli may one day go on to follow Gareth Bale to Spain, even next summer feels far too soon for him to cut ties with Spurs.
