The former Tottenham midfielder believes Walker deserves to earn much more.
Tottenham’s Kyle Walker in action
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has been commenting on the future of the club’s right-back Kyle Walker.
The Spurs defender has been linked heavily with a move to Manchester City recently, amid claims he might be keen on discussing a move.
The England international has been in fine form for Tottenham this season and many will wonder why he would want to leave. But Tottenham’s strict wage structure means Walker and other stars are making much less than some of their contemporaries.
For Jenas, who was with Tottenham from 2005 until 2013, it is this factor which might convince Walker he needs to move. Jenas told BBC Radio 5 Live:

“At some point, as a player, it’s also about self-worth.
“If I’m Kyle Walker l’m sat there on £40,000 to £50,000 a week and Nathaniel Clyne’s sat across me in the England changing room on £100,000-a-week I’m saying, ‘well is that how my club values me then? Are you telling me I’m the second best right-back in England, because I’m not.’
“As a player that does start to become annoying.”
Tottenham Hotspur will not be wanting to lose Walker, who has had one of the more consistent seasons of his career so far in 2016-17.

The Mirror reported on April that Spurs will want £50 million for the player, a fee which they would struggle to reject.
Tottenham fans will hope that Walker does not feel the same way as Jenas regarding his position at the North London club.
