Spurs earned a comfortable 2-0 win over Watford on Monday night.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has told BBC Radio 5 Live that the tension of Spurs fans “transmitted” onto the players during the 2-0 win over Watford.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were far from their best but still managed to take home three points, thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane either side of the half-time whistle.
Spurs were frustrated for much of the match by Watford’s defence, and could have easily conceded with good chances missed by Richarlison and Christian Kabasele.

Jenas, who works for BBC Sport and BT Sport as a pundit, claimed the tension of his old side’s supporters effected Spurs’ display. He believes that the unrest caused nervousness and therefore mistakes among the Spurs players.
“It was job done, it wasn’t the most vintage performance,” Jenas said. There was a lot of tension in the stadium that transmitted to the players. There were a few dodgy touches and passing was not on the money.
“They got three points which is the most important thing. They had Chelsea slowly creeping up on them too so they now have an opportunity to start looking upwards rather than behind them.”

Spurs secured a crucial win in terms of the Premier League table, as they now sit five points ahead of Chelsea in fourth place with only three league games to play.
Pochettino’s side go up against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, before facing Newcastle United and then Leicester City at Wembley on May 13.
