Jermaine Jenas had positive words for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko on BT Sport 1 (2:45pm, October 5, 2019) following the match against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The former Tottenham midfielder was impressed with the display produced by Sissoko in the North London outfit’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton away from home in the Premier League.

Jenas said on BT Sport 1 (2:45pm, October 5, 2019): “Sissoko, who by the way was one of Spurs’ best players today, he’s the one who actually tried out there.”

Performance against Brighton and Hove Albion

Sissoko started the match at right-back despite being a midfielder by trade, and the former Newcastle United midfielder struggled defensively.

After the break, when the Frenchman was moved to right wing-back, he did play better, but it was far from great.

According to WhoScored, against the Seagulls, the 30-year-old had a pass accuracy of 87.5%, won one header, and made two tackles and one clearance.

Disappointing result

Tottenham were hugely disappointing against Brighton, and the loss which came just days after a 7-2 hammering by Bayern Munich in the Champions League will have left the fans bitterly disappointed.
