Everton have been linked with Theo Walcott of Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Theo Walcott may be struggling for playing time at Arsenal at the moment, but Everton seem to be determined to sign the England international.
According to The Mirror, Everton are trying to secure the services of the 28-year-old for £20 million this week.
Everton manager Sam Allardyce himself said last week that he is interested in signing Walcott, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, as quoted by The Independent.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder Jermaine Jenas has given his take on the prospect of Walcott moving from Arsenal to Everton in the January transfer window.
Jenas told BBC Radio 5 live: “I wasn’t so sure, I have to say, when I first heard it.”
The former Spurs and Newcastle star added: “I am not sure I have seen that blistering pace from Theo Walcott for a few years, to be honest with you.
“He does bring a goal threat, but I don’t know. Something doesn’t sit right with me whether it’s a good fit or not, I have to say.”
Walcott has a lot of pace, and now that he is fully fit, he could return to his best if he is given regular playing time.
The problem with the Englishman in years gone by is that he has had some serious injuries, and that has stunted his growth.
However, it is clear that Everton manager Allardyce, and that can only be a good signing for Walcott, who needs regular playing time at this stage of his career.
